Ravintola Kamome
The restaurant Kahvila Suomi served as the filming location for the Japanese movie “Kamome Diner”.
In 2015, as the Finnish couple who had run the restaurant for many years retired, we at Kamome Project took over the establishment.
We continued operating under the original name Kahvila Suomi, later transitioning to Kahvila Kamome and eventually Ravintola Kamome.
Offering Japanese cuisine inspired by the film’s warm atmosphere, alongside Finnish home-style dishes passed down from the original owners, the restaurant became beloved by both locals and visitors from around the world.
However, in 2025, the lease for the property could not be renewed.
Despite our efforts to keep the restaurant open, Ravintola Kamome ultimately closed its doors with many heartfelt farewells.
Yet the spirit of “Kamome” lives on.
It continues today through the restaurants and activities of the Kamome Project, in new forms and new places.
